You can pay for your membership online (via PayPal) using the forms below, or you can mail us a check. All accounts are updated manually, so even online payments may take a few days to process.

Curious about the benefits of a paid account? Wondering what type of membership is right for you? Still need to sign up? You'll want to figure these things out first, then proceed here for payment.

Producer Membership

A paid (pro) producer membership costs $50/year. You get 10 hours of storage space on the PRX site, and if your pieces are licensed you will be paid according to the price in points you set for the piece and the PRX Economy. You can always add additional hours to your account at the rate of $10/hour (see below). In order to receive royalties for your pieces that are licensed, you must provide PRX with your tax ID. You can do this by faxing your legal name and social security number to 802-485-9509. Discounts are available for AIR members and Third Coast Attendees.

Your account will be updated within 24 hours of payment (not including weekends).

The basics:

• Use the free PRX "drag and drop" tools to encode and upload your audio.
• Make pieces available for stations to license, download and broadcast.
• Create your own member profile with bio, photo, links.
• Upload marketing and other materials such as promos, images, transcripts.
• Set licensing terms for each piece.
• Listen to and review other radio pieces.

The benefits:

• Market and distribute your work. Create and promote a one-stop shop for your best work, where stations can audition, license, and download for broadcast.
• Get paid. Each time a station licenses your piece(s) we credit your account from the payment pool, and cut you a check each quarter.
• Get feedback. Your pieces are available for review by our Editorial Board, Sounding Board, and Vox Pop reviewers.
• Track carriage and account activity. See how many times your pieces were streamed, downloaded, reviewed, and view carriage reports by stations that license your work.

Group Membership

A paid group account will get you 30 hours of storage space on the PRX site for $150/year. You can have multiple individual accounts under the one group name, but all of the pieces uploaded by group members are associated with the group account. If a group piece is licensed, the group will be paid according to the price set for the piece and the PRX Economy. You can purchase additional hours of storage space at the rate of $10/hour (see below).

Station Memberships

We base station membership prices on a sliding scale depending upon your station's annual revenue and the amount of content you'd like to acquire from PRX. Check out our station memberships page for more information, and use the calculator to calculate the cost of your station's membership.

Purchasing additional hours of storage

You can buy extra hours of Audio Space in 1-hour increments at the rate of $10 per hour. The space will be added to your account within 24 hours (usually sooner).

If you would like to buy more than one additional hour, email payments@prx.org, include the number of hours you would like to purchase and your username and you will receive a PayPal invoice.
