Changing Your PRX Account Preferences

Tailoring your PRX account is easy! Just log in and go to the "My PRX" tab to make any of the following adjustments.

Your profile and image

Go to the "My Account" link on the left. You can change your personal summary, your image (just click "browse" to select an image file off your computer), professional title, organization, website address, affiliations and favorite quotation. When you've finished making your edits, click the "save" button.

Footprints

"Footprints" keep track of the members and pieces you have recently visited. By default, these footprints are visible to other users: if you'd rather keep this information private, you can change this setting. To do this, go to the "My Account" link on the left within My PRX. Click "password and settings." Uncheck "show footprints to others."

Hiding your profile from non-members

By default, much of your PRX profile information is public (we do not share your mailing address, phone number or email address), and can be indexed by Google and other search engines. If you'd rather keep your information more private, go to "My Account" and then click on "password and settings." Check the "only show profile to members" box. This means that only logged-in members of PRX can view your profile, and your PRX profile will not show up in Google search results.

Messaging

To view your messages, go to "My PRX" and then click on "My Messages" in the left column. You'll be notified of any new messages – producers and stations will also see current account status, hours and points remaining – right on the home page, under the log-in area. You can also click on this notification to get to your messages.

To change your message settings, go to "My PRX" and then click on "My Account," then "Password and Settings." By default, PRX messages are both emailed to you and saved in a PRX inbox within your My PRX tab. Check "email" to have your messages emailed to you only, "site" to receive no emails and only use the PRX inbox, and "both" to receive both copies.

Contact information and password

Change of email or mailing address? Want to update your password? Easy! Just go to "My Account" and then "Address and Email" to change your contact information, or "Password and Settings" to change your password.

Upgrading and renewal

You can upgrade to a Pro account or renew your current Pro account by going to "My PRX" and then viewing the "Quick Links" section on the right. Click the renew/upgrade link to pay via PayPal or check.

Disabling your account

If you'd like your account entirely removed from the PRX site, send us an email at help@prx.org with your name and username. We'll email you back as soon as your account is disabled – usually within 24 hours.
